Public Art Intervention Project
For my public art intervention project, I have decided to confront the issue of drunk driving. So many people refuse to take responsibility when drinking and think that it’s ok to drive after going to a party, going to the clubs, or just having a few drinks with friends. In all reality, they are putting themselves and other at risk when they decide to take the road.
With this project, I have printed out labels with statistics on drunk driving, including mortality rates and effects of driving under the influence of alcohol. I took these labels into a local supermarket and put them on the fronts of bottles of liquor. I am hoping that the result will be those who go to buy alcohol with see the bottles that I have put the labels on and think about what they plan to do with the bottle they buy and also think about how responsible they will choose to be. I have entitles this project “THINK”.
I actually enjoyed doing this project. I felt a little uncomfortable inside the store taking pictures and putting the labels on the bottle, but I feel good about what I did. I hope that it might make at least one person think a little better, and hopefully many people will notice what I did.
THINK
These are the labels that I printed up to stick on the bottles of liquor...Each having a different statistic on drunk driving.

What a grand slam of an idea! I feel the exact same way and alcohol and drunk driving was a topic I considered as well but I decided to go with smoking instead. Nice job! Jeremy
I like those things you put on the label, trying to remind people do drink before drive. Those are awesome.
I think the placement of your project is its strongest aspect. You're definitely reaching your intended audience--those who buy alcohol. I also like that the labels look very professional. People would probably believe that it was some new law that all alcohol bottles have to carry a warning about drinking and driving.

I think this project is very successful you should keep on pasting away if you feel strongly about the cause.
good job
your execution with this project is its greatest strength. I agree with Sarah, the consumer could easily be fooled into thinking these came from the manufacturer.

I think your project is very successful and you are very couragous. People do not realize how irresponsible it is to be placing innocent people in danger for their lack of control and their egoist approach. I think your opionion about the subject is great.
I really liked that you had a meaningful cause that you put towards your project. It is a great cause that I fully support and am curious if the bottles are still there.

An old issue, but very creative and in your face approach about it. I think it's very cool that the people buying those bottles of alcohol will actually read those and think about what they're doing that night. Who knows - you might have prevented accidents or at least DUI tickets that night. I love it.
